Hi, my name is Anasabina. I’m a freelance illustrator based in Vancouver, BC.

I’ve always been fascinated by stories, whether they're jumping off the pages, unfolding on screens, or being shared through daily conversations with other people. There's magic in stories — they can bring us together, stir our feelings, and open our minds to new ideas and concepts. Born in Guatemala and raised in Canada, I like to draw on my roots and lived experiences, letting curiosity and a sense of wonder guide how I see and interpret the world.

I work in mixed media, blending traditional materials with digital techniques to create illustrations rich in texture, emotion, and detail. I’m drawn to quiet moments, subtle humour, and thoughtful details that invite viewers to pause and take a closer look.

I started my career as a designer, gradually weaving illustration into my work whenever possible. Over the years, I’ve been transitioning toward children’s book illustration, a dream career I’ve had for as long as I can remember. I continue to bring both design and illustration into every project, as the two disciplines naturally complement each other and help shape how I bring stories to life.
